The national road RN90 is the main road in Tarentaise valley and bears its economic activity. It’s also a touristic service road for ski resorts. On rush periods, until 35 000 vehicles can run every day on each directions, against 14 000 on normal periods.
The main goal of the improvements on a RN90 section is to secure the road network from naturals risks: firstly rockfalls (from Montgalgan and Pomblières cliffs) and also floods if Isère river overflows.
Roadworks have been started at the beginning of 2013 and will last for 4 years. During the works, traffic can be slightly disrupted (speed limit at 50km/h) and the RN90 would be temporary closed.
